Our Heritage
The influence of our Italian heritage goes back many decades to the original olive farm of Vesuvio Estates. However, 1996 was a turning point in our history when a well-known olive oil industry family from Naples, the Dotoli’s, purchased the land and expanded the estate into South Africa’s largest, top quality Extra Virgin Olive Oil producer. With a tradition of expertise and excellence in olive oil making that has evolved over generations, the Dotoli family has pioneered, energized and expanded Vesuvio Estates. Key to this has been our forward-thinking approach that has resulted in a large, state of the art, quality-controlled cold extraction facility that enables us to make international award-winning Vesuvio Extra Virgin Olive Oil from the fine fruits of the South African soil.
